Technology Blog #2: Building Your Connected Learning Community (Ch. 6); Why it applies to my major, career and future goals

Building Your Connected Learning Community (Ch. 6), made me look more into how learning really happens through connections with other people instead of trying to do everything alone. A Personal Learning Network is a group of people, tools, and resources that support your growth over time. In Figure 6.1 it showed what a strong community looks like because healthy learning communities include active participation, shared purpose, collaboration, a safe space for ideas, and member ownership. Directly connecting to my major in Business Administration because management is about creating environments where teams communicate well, share knowledge, and work toward common goals. Then goes on explaining how communities grow and how people’s roles change, which is shown in Figure 6.2 with groups moving from being leader directed to member driven. App Smackdown - Adobe Acrobat

Hello Classmates,  I chose Adobe Acrobat due to using it for many years in the military and at corporate Comcast. In the military, I used it to edit, organize, create portfolios (multiple files within one digital document), and to insert digital signatures. At Comcast, I used Acrobat similarly but cloud collaboration tools were encouraged for working with stakeholders. This tool can be used at Stockton to submit assignments in its finalized format. Instead of using a Word or Google Doc, you can convert your assignment into a PDF file. This eliminates confusion about software versions or compatibility. This creates consistency throughout your academic work and into your professional career. The version I introduced in the video attached to this blog is the subscription based Adobe Creative Cloud that includes all of their software from Photoshop, Lightroom, Fonts, etc. Prior to 2014, lifetime licenses to Adobe were available.
