Technology Blog #3: Using Tools to Support Connected Learning (Ch. 5); Why it applies to my major, career and future goals
Reading into this, it helped me understand the different tools to support connected learning. It went over the tools which includes blogs, podcasts, social bookmarking, wikis, Google Docs, Twitter, and Ning. It goes over that these resources are not just technological advancements but are fundamental to enhance ease of communication. In Business Administration, I see relevance to management practices, that focus’ on ensuring teams remain organized and well-informed. Throughout the past 12 years in operations, I witnessed collaborative platforms and communication tools support seamless teamwork and alignment.
Finally, social networking and managing one’s online presence is necessary as many younger than me didn’t have the option of what was posted online about them. Most early social media adapters posted everything online for the world to see before they knew the negative consequences of that decision. When it comes to professional profiles and blogging to shape our digital footprint we have to remind ourselves that online communication is just like face-to-face. This prompted a deeper reflection on utilizing technological tools not only to maintain organization but to actively contribute to stronger teams and ongoing professional development.

I like how u brought up how managing ones online presence is necessary as younger people don't really have option on what was posted online about them. That can be because of of parents etc. This is because parents do this to even protect the child.
ReplyDeleteI found it interesting how you brought up digital footprint and its effect on people today. The chapter doesn't talk much about the negative consequences of what we post online, even though it has a huge impact on our groups and communities.
ReplyDeleteYour statement about the negative consequences of things being posted online is something that definitely needs to be talked about more. This is something that a lot of people do not realize, although I do think it is becoming more prevalent now. Many still need to understand the important of this. Very interesting take!
